The Buchanan County PSA is initiating a boil water notice in the Council Community due to a main line break. This boil water notice will begin at Grissom Creek Road. Continuing up Helen Henderson Highway to and through Oak Hill Rd. and also including Combs Ridge Road to the intersection of Compton and Combs Rd. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause and will notify the public once this notice is released.

Beginning at 4:00am on Monday August 31, 2026 and running through 8:00pm. The Buchanan County Public Service Authority will be performing the second of a few planned outages that are necessary for major infrastructure upgrades. Details for the outage is as follows:
• The planned outage will begin at 4am and end at 8pm on Monday August 31, 2026.
• A boil water notice will POTENTIALLY follow this outage, we will keep you informed if and when the boil water notice will begin, if necessary.
• This is a widespread outage and will affect the following areas and any side roads in between.
• Beginning just before the top of Big Ridge Road (Route 63) towards the town of Haysi to and including the entire town of Haysi, continuing on Sandlick Road (Route 80) and continuing through Priest Fork Road.
• Including the entire town of Haysi to the merger of Route 83 and including Route 83 through the Doe Branch Intersection.
